Having high expectations from your partner isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, it does put a lot of pressure on you and your relationship. As social expectations wane, couples have more opportunities to build something unique with their partners. People are no longer expected to be in a conventional relationship.

Relationships must always have some room for openness and growth. You shouldn't always be chasing chemical highs and thrills.

Your needs and expectations will most definitely be different from others. Once you reflect and decide what feels natural to you, only then will you be able to build authentic foundations.

6. Are You Both Thinking of the Same Future?

None of us know how relationships eventually play out. You can't have a definite answer for this, but make sure you and your partner are ready to have these significant conversations. At the very least, you shouldn't be afraid to discuss it. Maybe by having this conversation, you'll know if it's something that you're both willing to invest your time and energy in.
